HONOURS ABROAD.
ROSE FAREWELLED. Wellington, April 10. A special meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held -to-day to farewell Rose and MeHolm, who leave to-morrow night for Auckland. It was stated that they will proceed via Vancouver to New York, where they wjfl be met by G. Skegness, junior, also representatives of the American Amateur Athletic Association. They then go to England, where they will be met by the council’s representative. Mr. A. E. Porr.itt. Rose will compete at the English championships on July 3. Responding to. the farewell. Rose said he fully intended to do his very best. McHolm. promised to do his duties thoroughly, and said Rose was one of the most promising men New Zealand had ever sent abroad. fFurther reference to Rose will bo found on page 3.]
