OWNERS REPLY TO ULTIMATUM. (Received 10, 11.15 a.m.) A statement regarding the owners’ Sydney, April 10. attitude in connection with the threat of the Federated Engine-drivers and Firemen’s Association to strike in view of the aljged reduction in wages under the recent award of the coal tribunal, says no such reduction was made, ana continues.” On the contrary material advances and concession in conditiona and shorter hours from 46 to 43 have been awarded.” —(A. and N.Z.)
