AMBULANCE COMPETITIONS.

VISITING TEAM ARRIVES. Auckland, March 30. Four members of the Glebe division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, New South Wales section, arrived in Auckland by the Maunganui to take part in the competitions in Auckland. The team comprises Sergeant F. True, Sergeant G. Goodrick, Corporal W. Campbell, and Corporal R. Brown. The visitors, who are the first St. John Ambulance representatives to leave their country to compete overseas, are the holders of the Lane Mullins shield, ; and are runners-up for the Roth shield. On Saturday they will compete against a number of New Zealand teams, two teams from Wanganui, two from Masterton, two representing the ; National Reserve division, and two representing the Auckland division, will take part in the competitions on Saturday. The challenge cup to be competed for was presented by th© officers of the Auckland district in order to stimulate interest and raise th© standard of efficiency. Any colonial team may compete for the trophy, but it is stipulated that the competition must take place in Auckland. It is hoped that a New Zealand team will be sent to Australia next year.
