Association Football
H.B. ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING. The report presented at the annual general meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Football Association, stated that from a playing point of view th e season had been quite successful. Financially, the Association had suffered through the visit of the Chinese team, although the fixture was very successful and in itself showed a handsome balance, and although last year’s working showed a credit balance of £3 7s, this was insufficient to make up the loss previously incurred. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr John Mason, M.P.; president, Mr H. M. Campbell, M.P.; active vice-presidents, Messrs J. Johnson and T. Atkinson; vice-presidents, Messrs B. Christinsen, and B. Clough; hon secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Stickland. It was decided to act on the suggestion of the chairman, Mr John Mason, to endeavour to arrange a visit from a Wellington team. A special vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Mason for his support, and for the keen planner in which he had interested himself in the affairs of the Association. Mr Mason regretted that pressure of work necessitated his relinquishing his position, but he would still take a keen interest in the game and would always be willing to give the Association his assistance. Votes of thanks' were also accorded to the retiring officers, and also to Mr Jack Snadden for his generous treatment over th e supply of jerseys and stockings to the association.
