REDUCTION ON PAPERS HOPELESS. (Received 31, 11.15 a.m.) London, March 30th. In the House of Commons, the Post-master-General (Rt. Hon. Sir W. Mitchell Thomson) replying to Sir H. Brittain (Conservative, Acton), said his Department had reviewed the rates -if postage on magazines and papers between Canada and Britain, but in view of the heavy loss there was no hope of an extension to other parts of the Empire.—(A. and N.Z.)
