JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL.
WHANGAREI OPENING. Whangarei, March 30. Tho Alinister of Education opened a new .junior high sciiool for 320 child-, ren at Whangarei to-day. In the course of his remarks he said he had observed that the Waitaki branch or the Teachers’ Institute had made a protest against his comparison of the product of junior high schools witn that of fifth and sixth standards to the advantage of the new movement. He reaffirmed his belief and stated it was becoming more and more apparent that seconda r v education should begin at about twelve years of age.
