AN INTERPRETATION SOUGHT. Gisborne, March 29. Owing to the indisposition of Air W. Scott, employers’ representative on the Arbitration Court, the Court adjourned today till this evening, but at night Air. Scott was still unable to be present. Tho Court sat in the evening, when it was asked to decide an application by a Gisborne employer through the inspector of factories lor an interpretation of the preference clause in the drivers’ award. 'J’he question was: Is an employer bound to dismiss from his service a youth, « non-unionist, when requested to do so by the union, provided there is a member of the union, either a youth or an adult, qualified for that particular work. After argument had been hoard the Court reserved its decision.
