SUCCESSFUL IKAUCURAL MEETING. ENJOYABLE AFTERNOONS SPORT. Great interest was centred in the Heretaunga Sports Club’s meeting at Nelson Park, Hastings, on Saturday afternoon, and a very enjoyable programme of events was provided, covering all branches of athletics. The oortipetitors were numerous in all events., amateur and professional, and thex-e were some very exciting finishes. If the high standard set up on Saturday is maintained the club can look forward to a very prosperous future The club wishes to thank Mr. mid Mrs. G. AlcKay, Messrs. AV. Richmond, Phil. AValden. C. AVon by six inches, three inches between second and third, all others close up. Time, lOsecs. This race was cun twice. Being wrongly entered in the book programme as a maiden race instead of a handicap, some of the entrants did not start in the first race, which was won bv S. Robb by three inches from McKechnie and Garnett, who dead-heated for second place.
