SUCCESSFUL IKAUCURAL MEETING. ENJOYABLE AFTERNOONS SPORT. Great interest was centred in the Heretaunga Sports Club’s meeting at Nelson Park, Hastings, on Saturday afternoon, and a very enjoyable programme of events was provided, covering all branches of athletics. The oortipetitors were numerous in all events., amateur and professional, and thex-e were some very exciting finishes. If the high standard set up on Saturday is maintained the club can look forward to a very prosperous future The club wishes to thank Mr. mid Mrs. G. AlcKay, Messrs. AV. Richmond, Phil. AValden. C. Being wrongly entered in the book programme as a maiden race instead of a handicap, some of the entrants did not start in the first race, which was won bv S. Robb by three inches from McKechnie and Garnett, who dead-heated for second place.
