OFFICIAL VISIT TO PALMERSTON NORTH. Palmrst°n North. Mar. 2ft. The Governor-General and Lady Alisa Fergusson, who are paying their lint official visit to Palmerston North, arnv ed hero on Saturday evening. They attended service at the Presbyterian Church yesterday morning. This morning they were taken on a tour of the borough by the Mayor. They visited the Old People's Home, the West-end School, and the Public Hospital, whera Thgir Excellencies chatted with the patents. An address of welcome was presented at each place called at, tho Government-General replying. This afternoon His Excellency is to attend a Rotary luncheon, followed by a civia reception at 3 p.m., then an “afternoon” at the Mayor's residence. Thia evening His Excellency attends a Masonic function.
