SPEEDOMETER TESTING.

The Speedometer is intricate as a watch requiring fine and accurate adjustment by a specialist. The Calibrating Macliine designed for’testing Stewart Speedometers consists of. a powerful Master Instrument specially constructed to which the Speedometer under test is connected. An Electric Motoi* supplies power to operate both Speedometers from the «ame shaft simultaneously at revolutions equalling road speeds varying from 1 to 75 miles per hour. All Speedometers must he adjusted until they synchronize with the Master Head at every speed. A Speedometer may function well up to 20 miles per hour but run erratically at other speeds. This variation is corrected by adapting suitable hair-springs of which the mecnamc has 20 different tensions to select from, the final adjustment being by a magnet which is minutely sensitive. In rim© the magnet loses strength and needs renewal. If doubtful regarding tho efficiency of your Stewart Speedometer ask your garageman to give it a rough test. Tie will have it adjusted by the Stewart Specialist if necessary. On Stewart Speedometer Service the sun never sets.*
