COSY DE LUXE. “Ridin’ Thunder,” now being shown at the Cosy Theatre, Hastings, is a cowboy story directed by a cowboy. Cliff Smith, who directed the production, tor many years, prior to his entrance into the picture field, rode tne range a s a cow puncher. Jack Hoxie plays the leading role, while the supporting cast includes Katherine Grant, .jack Pratt. Francis Ford, George Connors, Bert Demarc, William McCall and Broderick O’Farrell. “The Shock Punch” is the title of the second feature. The story has to do with a young man who has lightning in his fists and brings Richard Dix to the screen as a son of wealthy parents taking up boxing to keep from getting “soft” and becomes a steel worker to prove to his ladv friend that he’s “got the goods.” Patrons are reminded to book their seats early for the Easter attractions. MUNICIPAL As Frisco Sal, keeper of a dance hall in Port Said. Helen Ware has a picturesque role in “Soul Jire,” Richard new starring vehicle, now being offered by FirstNational at the Hastings Municipal Theatre. “Soul Fire” is a study of a genius seeking to find himself and traces the struggles of Eric Fane, a young composer, until, escaping the superficialities of civilisation, he finds —in the South Seas—his incentive in the simplicity of the primitive. Fane's wanderings carry him to Port Said, and the role played by Aliss Ware is a vital part of the dramatic tale. There is an added attractive supporting programme. Patrons are advised to book their seats early in the week for the Easter attractions.
