Te Kuiti, March 14

At a well-attended meeting of the Chamber of Commerce last night, Mr. H. T. Morton, a former president, moved the following motion, which was carried with only one dissentient: — ‘ That the Te Kuiti Chamber of Commerce urge the Government to give immediate effect to the recommendation of the Licensing Committee in reference to a local option poll for the King Country, and in the event of the poll being in favour of licensed houses to grant the sale and exclusive license to the Te Kuiti Borough Council.”
