LEVEL CROSSING DANCER.
CYCLIST SERIOUSLY INJURED AT CHRISTCHURCH.
(Special to “Tribune.”) Christchurch. March 15
The level crossing exacted further toll in Christchurch to-day. As a train conveying passengers from the ferry was crossing Waltham street, near the Christchurch station, the engine struck M .J. Riordan, who was proceeding to work on his bicycle, inflicting severe injuries. The crossingkeeper was at his post and the alarm bells were ringing. Riordan was to have taken part in the cycling events at to-morrow’s St. Patrick’s Day sports here. He was to have been married next month. He is now in hospital unconscious, suffering from concussion.
