EXTENSION OF HOURS REFUSED.

When the Licensing Bill in the House of Lords, proposing to Extend the hours of London public houses, to which the Bishop of London took strong exception, came up for the second reading, the Earl of Onslow (Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Health) .on behalf of the Government. opposed the Bill. Eventually the motion for rejection was carried.— (A. and N.Z.)
