WELLINGTON BURGLARIES.
PRISONERS BEFORE THE COURT.
Wellington, March 14
Recent burglaries in the city, which for some time occupied the attention of the detectives had a sequel in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when Henry Stephen Grandville and Charles Horace Sivwright Barry were charged with burglary. There were nine charged of breaking and entering against Grandville .and one of breaking and ’entering against Barry, besides four of receiving stolen property. Grandville came from Auckland six months ago and embarked on a career of crime. The property stolen amounted to about £7OO, and goods to the value of £175 were recovered. Barry, who was employed in the Education Department, met Grandville and took an active part in the disposal of the goods, even by raffles. He pleaded guilty an(d was committed for sentence.
John Ryan, 23, pleaded guilty to five charges of receiving stolen goods from Grandville and was committed for sentence.
