HARD TIME AT GLENGARRY

Dannevirke, March 20

Soldier settlers on the Glengarry Block are experiencing a hard time in carrying on. A meeting was held on Saturday to consider the prospects of the men. and it was decided unanimously to invite the Minister of Lands to visit the district with a view to meeting the soldier settlers and inspecting the Glengarry block. The Minister is to be requested to introduce legislation amending the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act, in order to provide for immediate revaluation and adjustment in the capital value and rent in cases where it is shown to be urgently necessary*
