ADULTERATED MILK.
At, the Napier Police Court fliia morning, David Martfu, of HnstSngs street south, milk vendor, was charged that ho did sell milk with 9 per coirt of added water. The usual further charge was that ho sold ndultera ted Milk Without informing the purchaser of sueh adulteration. Mr. F. B. Gardiner prosecuted for the Health Department, mid Mr. H. B. Lusk represented accused, who pleadml guilty. For the defendnnt, Mr. a plea of guilty was entered oft-toti Gov ernment analysis. Tlie defendant sample had been forwarded for analv>is but tho cost had been prohibitive. The Government analysis foe was 10.- . while a private analysis fee was £5 5/-. The man boro an excellent charaatar, and he denied adding the water, but that was ns fur as ho cohid go. Defendant was i na struggling position With a large family. His Worship said he could not do less than enter a fine of £25 with costa 17/6.
