ONGA ONGA v. WAIPUKURAU-

(Own Correspondent.) The first match in connection with Cup fixtures of junior fdbtball commenced on Saturday, May Bth, at Onga Onga, between teams representing Waipukurau and Onga Onga. The first half play was mostly confined to Waipukurau’s twenty-five, and it was only misfortune that Onga did not register a score. However, in the second half Waipukurau rallied round and both teams worked very hard for a win, and the spectators, of which there were a large number, witnessed one of the best games of football played here. It may be mentioned that the game was fast and clean, many players on bot. sides showed to advantage and with a ittie tuition and combination will be heard of later on. The game though keenly contested ended in ,a draw. Referee G. Stevens controlled the game in a satisfactory manner.
