WAIPUKURAU BOROUGH COUNCIL.

MONTHLY MEETING. (Own Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the above body was held in the Council Chambers on Monday evening, the 10th instPresent: The Mayor (Mr. E. A. Goodger), Crs. McLean, Bryce. Atkins, M-«»ning, Beachen and Harker.

CORRESPONDENCE.

Edmund Anscombe Smith, with details ut concrete houses.- —Held over until the local scheme is further advanced.

Waipawa Hospital and C.A. Board, asking for remittauee of first quarterly payment of annual levy of £133 11/2. —To be placed an pay-sheet.

, Mrs. b. J. Brown, complaining of state of water tables in Nelson street. —To be attended to-

Lawrence Borough Council, asking for indorsement of a resolution, aiming at the payment of Hospital Board charges from the Consolidated Fund. — Agreed to. Valuer-General, asking for election of a local delegate for the Assessment Board.—Mr. J. Donald to be asked to fill the position, and failing him, Mr. W. Stoddart.

Constable Butler, asking for grazing lights.—Referred to Finance Committee.

Hand, re rent of Town Hall.—To he granted free of cost for Band Instrument Fund entertainments.

The Council approved of £2O expenditure to cover the share of the cost of arrangements for H.R.H. the Prince’s vis’t-

SPECIAL 'MEETING. £lO,OOO FOR* HOUSING

A special meeting was then held to confirm the special order, enabling the council to borrow £IU,OOO under the Government's new housing scheme.
