PIRATES IN BLACK SEA.

DARING RAID AT BATOUM

Constantinople, May 11. There was a daring pirate raid at Batoum. Fifteen men hidden in the French liner Souirah suddenly appeared on the decks and took control of the ship. Firing revolvers they drove the passengers to their cabins, stripped them of money and valuables and forced the captain to land them near Trebizond. They escaped before a wireless could bring up a French destroyer. A number of Americans engaged in relief work were aboard the Souirah.—(A. and N./l.)
