A meeting of the committee was held on Monday evening to arrange for the coming school excursion. Mr. R. J. Pellow wrote agreeing to give a picture show on the 16th inst. in aid of the funds, and donations were received from Messrs. G. Hunter. M.P., £2, Paul Hunter £2, G. H. Wood £l. The Railway Department agreed to provide train accommodation for the excursion toNauier on the 23rd inst. A letter was received from the Education Board notifying the appointment of teachers to vacancies. A resolution was passed expressing the committee’s opinion that local applicants for a pupil teacher’s nosition should have prior consideration when qualifications are equal.
