Mesopotamia.
FURTHER BRITISH ADVANCE.
ENEMY HEMMED IN AT KUT
[AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASS’N] (Received 14, 10.30 a.m.) London, Feb. 13.
A Mesopotamia official report states: We directly hit an enemy bridge at Shumran and sank some shipping. We resumed our advance on Sunday on the right bank of the Tigris and drove back the enemy from his east line of trenches on the Basra bend. Westward of Kut we established our line in the evening across the bend from bank to bank on a frontage of 5500 yards, complete!}' hemming in the enemy.
