WORK OF THE NEW BOARD AVelhngton, Feb. 13.
The Industrial Efficiency Board met. to-dav. Tlie chairman (Mr. Ferguson) stated he was not m a position at pi©*ent to gixe an indica.ion of t’m work done. The idea was that each member would wo~k in his com nnlitarx- dmtiict. but- the board xvould first decide upon the plan of working. At present they t'Ci'o anting the general idea of the difficulties and pioblenis to bo dealt with.
The Acting Prime Minister stated later Everything was now in train to draw out the terms of appointment and the duties of the board. The members of the board were xviJL ing to give their services for three yea's after the war, xxben the xxork would be as important as now. The bond xvould then have to deal xvith rex'/ industries and the application of scientific research thereto. Owing to the importance oi the chairman’s work, and the hcavx- calls on his time, it has been decided tn appoint a fifth member to deal witli tlie Wellington district work.
