NAPIER HARBOUR BOARD.

OFFICIALS’ REPORTS

The following reports were dealt, with at to-day’s Napier Harbour Board meeting:— The secretary (Air. Jno. P. Kennv) reported on the maintenance work, and stated that the lagoons had been cleaned out, all offensive matter being removed. Owing to the scarcity of coal the reserve supply had been drawn on since the 20th ulto. The present stock was 817 tons. Since the last report the AVaikaka had done only three days dredging, and as the vessel was due for its «nnual overhaul that work had been put in hand. On 30th ulto a scour set in abend of where stone was being tipped from pontoons, as anticipated by Air. Geo. Nelson and his instructions to meet the case were being closely adhered , to. The actual dredging "done during, the month was 241 hours. The estimated quantity .of dredged material on the southern embankment was now 10.000 cubic yards, including 650 yards for the nast month. The “C.D.K.” had dredged IS3 hours. A start had been . made blocking the stream that joins the channel going through the second bridge on the Taradale road.

Thb acting-harbourmaster (Captain Cossentine) forwarded .% chart of soundings, and reported that the steamer “Kurow” left the Glasgow wharf on the 3rd inst., owing to a heavy N.E. sea coining oyer the breakwater. Two vessels—Ngakuta and Kittawa—each drawing 16ft. were included among the vessels that berthed at the Inner Harbour.
