H.B. HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING
The H.B. Hospital and Charitable Aid Board met at Napier yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs Shrimpton, (chairman), J. D. Ormond, W. Hart, J. A. Miller, H. Hill, A. L. Beattie.
The Masseur reported having paid 25 visits to the hospital, 16 patients being treated during the visits. Three returned soldiers are included in this number. GENERAL.
On the recommendation of the Finance Committee it was decided to receive at their next ordinary meeting a deputation representing tlie United Friendly Societies Council for the purpose of discussing matters relative to the basis of payment by the Council to the B'ai 4 for the treatment of Lodge patients for the ensuing year. The matron of the Hospital extended thanks to those in charge of the Red Cross Shop on the 3rd inst., for gifts of fruit and vegetables.
The following donations were acknowledged: Mrs. A. M. Gardiner £5. Napier Volunteer Fire Brigade £2 2/-, A( M. Williams £3, F. O. Farmer c£l 1/-. The Inspector General intimated that they could .not see their way to grant a subsidy on Christmas. They had not been accustomed to do so in the past. The niimU'i' of out-door rations distributed during the month was 1791.
The cash statement for the month showed a credit balance on the ordinary account of £2214 10./2 and an overdraft of £3OOO on the building account.
Accounts amounting to £2610 1/6 were passed for payment.
