Wellington, Feb. 7. In the bupreine Court Clara Alice Ross. James Ross and James Gib-] bons, were charged with the. robbery of 70. - from an Italian. Ballone. Gavino. in a house of iil-l’aiiu - . Gavino visited the house with some of his compatriots. The others left and he grew alarmed at hearing the accused talking about the possibility of his having money. They assaulted him. The female accused i knelt on his chest and asked one of the others to pass a knife. The bread knife was handed over and she ran this along Gavino’s throat. I Eventually' he st niggled free and | escaped seriously injured. He foundi he had been rollbed of 70’-. I The jury' returned a verdict of i guilty m respect of the assault I causing bodily harm. j Mr. Justice Chapman remarked i that all the accused had bad re-1 < ord<.
