TAKAPAU.

(Own Correspondent). The ordinary monthly meeting of the School Committee was held last evening when the following were present: Messrs F. 11. Hillier (chairman), M. Keegan, A. E. Anstice and W. Cuthbertson. The headmaster’s report was received showing a roll number of 130 and an average of 118. It was decided to ask the Education Board to subsidise for a new pump. Accounts amounting to £lO 0/2 were passed for payment. The secretary was instructed to write to the Waipawa County Council with reference to the sanitation fee. Messrs E. F. Stubbs and TV. R. McLeod were appointed a visiting committee. Diphtheria has again made its appearance and several cases are reported in the district. Shearing operation, which were retarded by the unfavourable weather in the earlier part of the week are again in full swing.
