HASTINGS HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

His Worship the Mayor (Air. AY. Hart) presided at a meeting or the Hastings Horticultural Society held in the Old Library last night. The balance-sheet of the recent buib show, presented bv the treasurer (Air. F. Cassin) showed a profit of slightly over £l. The receipts, including a credit balance of £l4 18/4 at the beginning of the year amounted to £43 17/1, and the expenses in connection with the show amounted to £2B 2/10, leaving a balance in hand of £l5 14/3. The balance-sheet was adopted. -Accounts in connection with the bulb show were pased for payment. It was decided to hold a Sweet Pea and Rose Show on Friday, November 10th, and Mrs. AVright, the Rev. H. Blathwayt and Mr. F. Cassin were appointed to draw up a schedule. Mr. Blathwayt was appointed judge of sweet peas and Mr. G. D. Wilson judge of roses and all other blooms. A vote of thanks was passed to the secretary, Air. IV. J. Connor, for the efficient manner in which he had carried out the arrangements in connection with the last show.
