WAIPUKURAU.

(Own Corrbspondent.) “Missing, believed to be dead” is the report of the military authorities regarding Private F. D. Thodey. “Dug” is a Waipukurau boy, not quite twenty’ years of age. Though young in years he has played a man’s part, and sympathy is tendered to his kith ancl kin. Sister Richardson, formerly on the staff of our hospital, returned to the Dominion by tlie last hospital ship. The sister intends spending her furlough resting with her relatives at Wellington. After a long illness, Mr. Hammond, of Devonshire House, died on Sunday. Mr. Hammond spent some time in South Africa and later was at Napier.
