LAND COMPANY’S RETURNS. London, Oct. 30. The New Zealand and Australian Land and Mortgage Co. has declared a profit of £184,319 and carried forward £13,490. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Sydney, Oct. 30. At the wool sales there was a strong market at late rates for best qualities. Faulties were difficult to sell. Merinos and crossbreds reached 22]d. DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET. (Special to the “Tribune.”) Messrs. Bray Bros, (of Dunedin) Ltd. report as follows for the week ended 28th October, 1916. The following prices were realised during the week: —Apples, Californian 16/- to 17/- per case, Nelson Stunners 14/6 per case; oranges, Valencias 33,’- per case, mandarins 16/6 per case; pines It/- to 17/6 per case; lemons, American £2 5/- per case, Auckland 10 - per case; tomatoes, Christchurch hothouse 19 per lb; asparagus 4/6 to 6/9 per doz ; peanut 3d per lb; cabbages 3/6 to 4/6 per sack; cauliflowers 10/- to 12/- per sack; pigs, baconers 140's to 160’s 7d per lb. CLIVE STOCK SALE. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report the following sales at Clive Grange yards yesterday:—l cow at £9 10/-, 1 heifer at £7 1/-, 101 shorn fat wethers 30, 1, 14 ewes at 35/3, 12 do at 20/3, 49 do at 28/-, 101 2th wethers at 24/3, 11 fat do at 28/-, 47 fat ewes at 27/6, 4 wethers at 27/6, 37 2-th do at 24/4. The H.B. Farmers’ report:—4 fat cows £l6 15, 2at £l2 10/-, 2 18 month steers at £6, 1 at £5, 4 yearlings at £3 7/6, 2 at £3 4/-, 1 weaner £2 17/-, 2 bull ca.ves £2 11/-, 1 at £2 16/-, 1 springing cow £lO 11/-, 30 fat ewes at 31/-, 29 at 35/1. The Loan and Mercantile Agency report: —3 fat cows £l4 15/-, 3 forward cows £l3. Hoadley, Son and Stewart, Ltd. report as follows on their Clive Grange sale held yesterday (Monday). At the opening sale of the Clive Grange yards we offered a good yarding of sheep and cattle to a large attendance of the public and quote as follows:—109 f. and f. ewes 29/9, 18 fat ewes 32/6, 14 forward ewes 24/9, 40 ewes and lambs 39/9, 21 f. and f. ewes 28/9, 40 fat ewes 34/9, 15 fat shorn weds 35/6, 5 fat shorn ewes 30/-, 10 2-tooth shorn weds. 28/-, 4 woolly weds. 35/6, 54 fat ewes 31/3, 21 hoggets 25/-, 6 fat cows £l2 7/6, 5 4-year steers £l6 15/-. 2 forward heifers £9, 1 f. and f. cow £ll 10/-, 1 f. and f. cow £ll 5/-, fat cow £l3 10/-, 2 store cows £7 1/-, 2 fat cows £l2, 1 fat cow’ £ll, 2 store cows £B, 2 store cows £6 7/6, 1 fat cow £l5 10/-, 2-year steers £4, 2 18month heifers £5 17/6, 3 2-year heifers £6 12/6, 5 yearling Holstein heifers £5 6/-, 13 yearling Holstein steers £6 5/-, 1 fat cow £ll 10/-, 13 15-month dairy heifers £4 13/-, 1 l<B-month steer £7 15/-, dairy cows and heifers in profit and to calve: 2 at £ll 5/-. 2 at £9, 4 at £9 10/-. £l2, £l3 5/-, All 15/-, £lO, £l2 5/-/ £lO 2/6, £l3 5/-, £ll 12/6, £lO 12/6. The opening of the new Clive Grange saleyards drew an exceptionally large attendance of buyers and the public and a great sale resulted. J. A. Miller reports having sold as follows:—62 fat ewes at 42/6, 22 fat ewes at 29/-, 41 ati 35/-, 30 ewes and lambs at 39/5, 26 ewes and 31 lambs at 47/6, 20 ewes and lambs at 3i'9. 12 f. and f. ewes at 28/9, 16 hoggets at 24/6, 43 f. and f. ewes at 28/11, 13 half-bred ewes at •19/3, 13 at 19/3, 3§ hoggets at 21/6, 8 weds at 11/6, 4 hoggets at 23/4, 2 weds at 24/4, 16 hoggets at 25/9, 1 Jersey heifer £8 10/-, 2 empty heifers at £6 12/-, 1 cow and calf £lO, 2 cows at £9 5/-, 1 at £lO 7/6, 6 Jersey heifers at £8 7/6, 2 empty heifers at £5 12/-.

HAWKE'S BAY FARMERS’ CO-OP. ASSN.. LTD. DANNEVIRKE STOCK SALE. The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Co-op. Assn., Ltd. report on their weekly sale held at Dannevirke on Friday:—; We offered a good entry of cattle and a few pens of sheep to a good attendance of the public. Competition for dairy stock was again very keen and we report a total clearance at very satisfactory prices. Young cattle and store cows were also in very keen request, and made big money. The announcement of increased prices for meat had, the effect of again putting up the price of sheep, and we realised £2 12/9 for a line of good ewes with a poolpercentage of lambs. We also got 36/3 for small 4-tooth store ewes. We quote the following sales: —30 springing heifers and cows to £8 10/-, practically all making TO guineas and over; two backward conditioned heifers in profit £7 12/6 and £5 2/6; 4 fat cows and heifers £l3 to £10: 5 store cows £9 7/- to £5 5/-; 18 yearling heifers from £5 IQ/- to, £4 '7 /-; 6 yearling steers rough £5; 29 black-faced hoggets 25/-; 33 do 22/3; 45 ewes with lambs £2 12/9 ; 2 wethers 32/-; 55 4-tooth empty ewes 36/3; 10 weaner pigs 21/- to 16/-; 1 aged mare £6 10/-. . Owing to Palmerston show next Friday we will not hold another sale in the Dannevirke yards until Friday, 10th November.
