The New Zeeland awl Australian Land Co. report that their operations are seriously affected by drought and heavy losses of sheep and cattle, especial.? in Quetnsland, where the flocks are reduced by 40 per cent. The company has therefore taken £82.0W from, the contingency fund ivhose object is to meet the exceptional loses due to perodical droughts. The company’s reserves were largely invested in American securities, and to meet the national requirements most of these have been sold at satisfactory prices, and the proceeds largely invested in Treasury bills.
