A sitting of the Native Land Board, Judge Gilfedder presiding, commenced at the Hastings Courthouse this morning. Five more men are required from the Hawke’s Bay recruiting area for the 22nd Reinforcements, and to leave for camp on Wednesday morning next. Intending recruits can leave their names at the local Defence Office any afternoon up to Tuesday. Two deaths are recorded from Omaha. Hastings, one the eighteen vear old daughter of Rohai Perani-I kt-, who died yesterday, and who | had been ailing for some considerable time, and the other Minnie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Biscuit, who died this morning.
