THE TANGO WALK.

POPULAR CRAZE INAUGURATES A NEW RULE OF THE ROAD.

The tango is responsible for the new fashion in walking, and incidentally has given the woman with a good profile the time of her life. Instead of having to make the most of her charms at rare opportunities, the woman with a fine side face can demonstrate her beauty now at first sight, as the new decree, via the tango, clearly states that women must walk side first. To step, or slouch, it out properly, one shoulder must be hitched high above the- other, and the chin must almost rest on the raised shoulder, while the figure, turned side front, must be carried along the street in a sort of lazy glide, with one foot dragging behind the other. The new slouch is to be seen already iu the streets of London, and women are being initiated in it daily at the Tango Tea parades at the West-End theatres ana fashionable restaurants. Recently at the London Pavilion, where until a short time ago -much of the Suffragette revolution was preached by the militant leaders, the. stage was given over to a dancing matinee and second edition of a fashion parade, and the new slouch formed no small feature of the demonstration.

FUTURIST SECRETS. - Gowned to perfection, the women whispered the fashion secrets of futurist times across the footlights, and in their ultra-fashionable robes came across the stage among the audience itself on a specially-constructed platform to show at closer sight the wonders of the new textures and gorgeous trimming schemes, and at the same time to illustrate the new deportment. Notable in the display were the Futurist gowns worn by Miss Dorothy Grahame, who is one of the finest tango dangers on the stage. Her first outfit was a wonderful collection of wispy black tulle and satin skirts inset with Chantilly lace and edged with fur, and finished with a tango coat which is like that worn by Eton boys. The tango coat, in vivid green velvet, was edged with white fur, and worn over a white corsage; while her long white silk hose bad cross-gartered black shoes. No fewer than four skirts were combined in another of Miss. Grahame's Futurist gowns, the first being in tango tulle, the second ,in black broche, the third in tango chiffon, and the fourth in pale lavender chiffon, each being shorter than the other. The black broche section was hemmed with diamonds, and the same glittering gems were profusely besprinkled about one side of the bodice, which was in tango chiffon, while the other was in Oriental brocade hung with black silk thread fringe, each thread being finished with a diamond. The dress had shadow sleeves and to complete the wonderful colourscheme there were cross-gartered black shoes and mauve stockings, and a small hat with long quills in each of the colourings spreading out from the head in all directions. A pretty scene was provided by two Pompadour figures in powder, patches, ruffles, and Dresden china brocades, dSlicing th© tango to the music of the minuet.
