ANOTHER STORM.
MOST ENERGETIC FOR SOME TIME. (Received 14. 10.5 a.m.) Sydney, March 14. A double-headed Antarctic disturbance. which covered the whole of South-east Australia, was experienced yesterday. It was one of the most energetic experienced for some time. Two yachts are ashore in the harbour. The ketch Brothers had a portion <>f its sails carried away 7 off North Head. A tug rescued it. Several buildings were unroofed. The maximum velocity was sixty miles an hour. WIND VELOCITY 75 MILES. (Received 14, 10.5 a.m.) * Newcastle, March 14. The storm here was one of the severest for some time. Heavy squalls of rain and hail fell at Lambton, where the fire station was wrecked. ( Several roofs were torn off. The velocity of the wind was 73 miles an hour. DISASTERS TO SHIPPING. (Received 14. 10.5 a.m.) Adelaide, March 14. A violent westerly wind sent two yachts ashore, which were smashed. The schooner Albatross also sank in Hie gale.
The French vessel General Descnis wheat-laden. dragged her anchors and grounded.
