MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
[BY TEEEQBAPH.—SPECIAL TO HERALD.] WELLINGTON, Monday. The three candidates for the Wellington mayoralty, Messrs Aitken, M.H.E., Wilford, M.H.R., and the Hon. Thos. Hislop are actively engaged in the election campaign. The general opinion seems to be that Mr Aitken will be- re-elected. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] OAMARU, Monday. Mr .1, M. Brown (the present Mayor) and Councillor Frith were nominated for the mayoralty to-day. WOOD VOLE, Monday. Mr Hubert Burnett has been reelected Mayor, unopposed. FEILDING, Monday. Mr F. F. Haggitt, solicitor, has been elected Mayor, unopposed. TIMAEU, Monday. Mr James Craigie wias re-elected Mayor of Timaru to-day, unopposed. ASHBURTON, Monday. Mr Henry Davis has been re-elect-ed Mayor, unopposed. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Councillor C. M. Gray has been elected Mayor, his being the only nomination.
