THE TE ATJTE BOYS’ TOUR. SYDNEY, Wednesday. The secretary of the Rugby Union has been advised that the visiting Te Ante College football team will be exempt from the Immigration Restriction Act. THE ENGLISH TEAM. SYDNEY, Wednesday. The secretary of the Rugby Union considers the cablegram that the English team will extend their tour to New Zealand probably means that the Englishmen have secured leave of absence which will enable them to include New Zealand in the tour. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The New Zealand Rugby Union are still negotiating with the New South Wales union regarding the English team. The management committee of the New Zealand union this afternoon decided to adhere to their last offer, namely, all expenses and half-profits.
NEW ZEALAND TEAM. [press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. At a meeting of the Rugby Union last night the question of the proposed tour in Great Britain of a team under the auspices of the New Zealand Rugby Union was discussed. It was decided, “That the amount of £250 be guaranteed by the union on condition that no appeal is made to the New Zealand Government for assistance out of the public funds.” MAHARAHARA v. WOODVILLE. The football season at Woodville opened yesterday with a match against Maharahara. The Woodville team won by 11 points to 6.
