GAROTTERS AT WORK.

[press association,] AUCKLAND, Monday. A farmer, walking up Wellesley-street the other night, was set upon by a couple of men, who assaulted and robbed him.

Mr Thos. Gresham, City Coroner, whilst returning home on Saturday night, was set upon opposite the Supreme Court. The robbers made off with Mr Gresham’s Masonic insignia and gold chain, leaving his gold watch and sovereign case in his pocket.
