FEDERAL PARLIAMENT.
NAVIGATION BILL. (Received April 12, 1.13 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Monday. The Steamship Owners’ Federation adopted a resolution recognising the necessity for a Commonwealth Navigation Bill, expressing extreme dissatisfaction with the Bill now drafted, and making suggestions for a comprehensive measure amending and consol'dating the existing State legislation, with the object of safeguarding public interests and developing a mercantile marine for Australia.
THE ARBITRATION BILL. MELBOURNE, Monday. The Labour members are confident of winning over the Arbitration Bill. Pending a division the position in the Federal Parliament is chaotic.
