The wedding of Paster Bjelke Petersen, of Norsewood, and Miss Maren Paulsen, eldest daughter of Mr Paulsen, of Queensland, took place at the Norsewood Lutheran Church on Tuesday. The church was prettily decorated. The bride, who was accompanied by Misses Marie Schmidt and Abelone Bertelsen as bridesmainds, and given away by Mr P. C. Olsen, of Ormondville, was dressed in cream silk voile, trimmed with insertion. The ■ bridesmainds* dresses were of white fancy muslin, trimmed with insertion, and cream silk ribbon. They also wore handsome gold brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. Pastori Legarth, of Mauriceville, attended the bridegroom ns best man, and the ceremony was solemnised by Pastor Christiansen, of Palmerston. At the conclusion of the service an adjournment was made to the Lutheran Sunday School Hall, which also was nicely decorted, where a sumptuous breakfast provided by the ladies of the Lutheran congregation was partaken of. Suitable addresses were given hy Pastors Christiansen and Legarth. At a special meeting of the Ormondviile Town Board, held on Tuesday evening, Wednesday was fixed as the statutory fialf-holiday for the year. The ordinary monthly meeting was afterwards held, when Mr Baines reported the work of forming and metalling Marshe f s-road to have been completed in a satisfactory manner. He also undertook to interview Mr Gilmeur as to asphalting the watertable in the main street, Ormondville. The Chairman was deputed to gift the drain cleaned out at the rear of the main street. The clerk was appointed to collect the dog tax'for the year. Accounts amounting to £23 0] 3d were passed for payment.
