WOODVILLE.

[own correspondent.] Mr W. H. Madill has been appointed secretary of the tennis club, vice Mr Nichol, resigned. Messrs R. E. Grinlinton and Co. are enlarging one of their furniture warehouses very considerably, and will make a very fine showroom of it. The extension is io have iron walls. At the parade of the Woodville Rifles on Friday night there was a very fair muster. The following were picked as the company’s team for the New Year shooting:—Captain Nelson, Lieutenant Horne, Sergeants Richards, and Tuely, Corporals Hurst, Cronin, Court. Neilson, and Privates Spinks and Carter. It is expected that the company will have from fifteen to twenty men firing at the meeting. The Jockey Club has given the Methodist Sunday School the use of the course for its annual picnic on Boxing Day.
