ihciT&l Cc-.otQr 13, & p.m. London, October 13. Lord Rosebery, in unveiling at Glasgow a statue of Mr Gladstone, by Hr Thorntycrcft, eulogised Hr Gladstone's lofty ambition, courage, industry, and aith. Mr A. W. Blast, m amber cf the Hciuo of Commons for Banffshire, invited Lord K-ssbcty to give an assurance that hie differences with Sir 11. Campbell-Bannerman would not prevent their future co-operation. Lord Ki:e''ory replied that the policy enunciated in his Chesterfield speech, which Hr H, Campbell-Bannerman had banned and condemned, embodied the only practical and sensible Liberal policy. If the Liberals adopted it he would be willing to withdraw and leave others to execute it, but while the true policy was excommunicated he must remain. Mr Black tried to elicit answers to hypothetical questions regarding Lord Kcsebery’s attitude in the event of a general election taking place shortly. Lord Bosebery declined to embark npoa an illusory discussion.
