THE COLONIAL TROOPS.
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.-COPYBIGHT.J London, Jane 27. Lord Wolieley Inepeoted the colonial troops at the Chelsea barracks, and expressed himself much pleased with their appearance and drill. At the Dublin military tournament Harcns, New South Waleß, won the first prlzs in tent pegging, and Beoond in uword versus sword and moantcd tlltlog. Colonial troops, to tho number of eight hundred, were received at Fortimonth by a guard of honor from the Shropshire regiment and the bands of the Artillery and Wiltshire regiments, The Mayor of Portsmouth, in bis robes, welcomed the troops, and addreiaed them at the Town Hall. The streets were filled with vaßt orowds, who greeted the troops with re« markablo enthusiasm, After breakfast the oolonlals embarked on the steamer Kohlnor, having received on ovation the whole way. [Received Juno 28, 0.39 p.m.) The colonial troops were delighted to rooolve an Invitation from Sir Henry Irving to attend the Lyoanm last night. The veteran actor played the part of Mattblai lo "The Balls" and alto gave the "Story of Waterloo." The Right Honorable J. Chamberlain was present and received an ovation.
