A meeting at Edinburgh oi the de-benture-holders in the Australian Deposit and Mortgage Company favorably received the proposed scheme of re-arrange-ment. A committee was appointed to consider the details, and the meeting ad* journed for a fortnight. (Received July 25,10 p.m.) Jnly 25. Mr Stewart, liquidator, commented ■trongly on advances made by the City of Melbourne Bank to Mr Jamec, of the Melbourne locomotive works. He also stated that Mr Longmnir, deceased, bad an overdraft of £20,000. Mr Loder defended the board's action saying it was unfair to judge the value of securities by tbe present depressed state of things. Mr Yonng explained the scheme of reconstiuctbn and advocated its adoption, bat nobody else supported it. Several creditors advocated liquidation.
