X Herald Office, Saturday afternoon. HASTINGS LAND SALES. Messrs C. B. Hoadley and Co. report:— There is a steady demand for Hastings lands, especially for the Rlveralea property, the syndicate having cut aT>lock adjoining.tho Park Into residential sites and small holdings of areas from one to eleven acres in extent. This portion, besides a few farming allotmenta of the richest description, situated on the Havelook-road, now represents the only unsold portion of the estate. Different from what was experienced a few years back, there is at present a complete absence of anything approaching sijoculation, most of the land now changing hands being devoted to bona flde settlement and productive occupation, whloh emphasises the fact and leaves no doubt that Hastings is fast becoming the most Important Inland town in the Noi th Island, ana it is only a matter of measurable time When the rapidly growing population which promises to he of the right class, will have to take up at enhanced prices the lands on the western side of the oity— a prospect it is to bo hoped not altogether disappointing to the large holders who have to periodically complain of the contribution they are called upon to make to tho Land Tax Department.
