DR KINNS AND EVOLUTION.
Sir, — As I should be very sorry to import personal acrimony into this discussion, I do not like to say that "J.C'has wilfully mistaken the plain purport of my letter; but as the phrase "of the Dr Kinn school " is merely attributive, it is , difficult to imagine how he has come to mistake its import. As it stands in my letter, the passage in inverted commas applies not only to Dr Kinns, but to " J.C." and all others who maintain that the Bible is in harmony with modern science. Instead of trying to show how the manufacture of a woman from a man's rib agrees with biology, and how far the hypothesis that " fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind " existed on the earth millions of ages before the light of the sun reaohed it, agrees with geology, "J.C." draws a red herring across the trail, and (acting on the old adage) having no caße, he tries to throw discredit upon his opponent. — I am, &c, Reformer.
