Herald Ofpicb, Thursday evening. The Jlooal agent of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received from the London office of the company the following telegram, under 'late the 12th instant :— Wool— The sales opened to-day at scarcely the level of last sales. Up to date 316.000 bales have arrived; 49,000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. The opening catalogue contained 9000 bales, and was a fairly representative one. For fairly medium and inferior combing washed the market is easier.
