The market rate of discount has advanced to 3s , and is now i below the Bank rate. Ihe wheat market is unchanged. Adelaide wheat, ex Btore, 4is ; New Zealand ditto, 36s to 425 ; Adelaide flour, ex store, 31s. Australian tallow, fair average quality beef, 38s ; mutton, 41s 6d. Melbourne, Tuesday. The Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, reports of the local grain market as follows : —Wheat, rather firm at 3s lid to 4s; malting barley, firm and in active demand, at 4s 3d to 4s 8d; New Zealand oats duty paid, 2a 8d to 33, market much steadier : New Zealand oats under bond, quiet at 2fl4dto2sßd.
