We hear that the Government have offered £1000 to the Waipawa County Council towards the maintenance of the Seventy-Mile Bush road. The question of taking it over will be discussed at the meeting of that body on Tuesday next. We have also been informed that instructions have been given by the Government to see that the road is kept passable in the meantime. We are not aware, however, whether any steps have been taken in pursuance of these instructions.
