THE AUSTRALIAN SERVICE.
With respect to the Australian service, the Qlobe of May 20 says that, with reference to the memorial on the subject presented the Duke of Montrose, no reply has been received. There are. reasons to believe that, if no satisfactory determination be arrived at by the Government, the matter will be laid before the House of Commons. It is understood that the next R.M. company's steamer, leaving on the 22nd June, will proceed straight to Colon, calling only at one intermediate port.
