OPENING OF THE TELEGRAPH.
The following telegrams were exchanged yesterday: — TTie Son. John Hall to His Honor tlie Superintendent Wellington, July 13, 1868. The Colonial Government congratulates the Superintendent of Hawke's Bay upon the. opening of telegraph communication between that province and Wellington, and trusts that the accomplishment oftlii's" important undertaking will promote the progress and prosperity of Hawke's Bay, and the colony generally. His Honor the Superintendent to the Hon. . John Hall. Napier, July 13, 1868 The Superintendent of Hawke's Bay has much pleasure in acknowledging the congratulations of the Hon. the Post-master-General, upon the opening of telegraphic communication between Hawke's Bay and Wellington, and fully reciprocates the hope that this important achievement may be attended with beneficial results, not only,to this province but to the colony at large.
